About Me
the abstract (and slightly rebellious) world of
Bianca
Black
Welcome to Bianca Black Art—where colours misbehave, textures dance, and rules are politely ignored. This is the wild, wonderful space where my decade-long love affair with interior design collided with the raw beauty of Hoedspruit and burst into paint in 2024. What started as a curious dip into creativity quickly became a full-blown obsession—one canvas, one mess, one aha! moment at a time.
With a background in interiors, I don’t just see a wall—I see potential. My eye has always been drawn to pattern, contrast, rhythm, and mood. I spent ten years making spaces feel just right—now I make art that does the same. Each piece I create is rooted in this designer’s mindset but filtered through a childlike lens of curiosity, freedom, and bold abstraction. It’s geometric, it’s emotional, it’s sometimes a little cheeky.
Bianca Black Art isn’t just about making pretty things—it’s about collaboration. I love working with architects, designers, and dreamers to craft custom pieces that speak their language, while still whispering (or shouting) a little of mine. Let’s blur the lines between art and architecture.
Let’s colour outside them too.

the Safari Sourceress: art with a passport and a purpose
Yes, I paint with my own two hands—but I also hunt for treasure. Through my other alter ego, The Safari Sourceress, I roam across Africa uncovering hidden gems: beadwork, textiles with ancestral rhythm, and carvings that whisper histories. It’s a parallel adventure to Bianca Black Art—same spirit, different route. While one hand splashes colour across canvas, the other connects with weavers, sculptors, and storytellers from every dusty road and quiet village.
Both worlds—my personal art and my curated finds—are rooted in one wild belief: that art should stir you, ground you, and wake something ancient inside you. Whether it’s a mixed-media riot from my studio or a handwoven piece from deep in the continent, it’s all about connection. Real. Raw. Radiant.
Welcome to my twin love affairs. One wears paint under her nails. The other wears seed beads and smells like woodsmoke. Both are in it for the soul.
meet the artist
behind the paint splashes
Want to see the face behind the chaos? The hands behind the brush? The heart behind the colour explosions?
Well, you’re in luck! The lovely folks at Jasper & Jute recently featured me in a special reel—yep, me!—spilling a little paint and a lot of truth about my creative world. It’s a quick peek into the sparks, stories, and slightly unhinged inspiration behind my art.
Go on, have a look. You’ll meet the curious mind behind the canvas… and maybe spot a paint smudge or two.
